Australian fire opal & diamond set, 18 carat yellow gold pendant.

Magnificent 11.5 carat Marquise shaped Australian fire opal. This stone has been salvaged from a 1920,s very plain setting and upgraded to a more intricate handmade Edwardian style pendant.Opals like these are becoming incredibly scarce with the equal amounts of colours. A multitude of varying shades of green, blue, orange and yellow can be seen in the flashes equally distributed over the entire stone. Set with in a enclosed mount with twenty eight round brilliant colour H, Vs quality diamonds in mill grain finish surrounding it. Beneath the stone is a hand pierced crown claw gallery, and suspended at the base of the pendant is a irregular formed culture pearl.

Opal weight: 11.50 carats approximately (calculated as to formula) with good  colour and equal flashes.
