2) Length: 12 inches. Weight: 251 grams. Assayer: Dimitry IIyich Tverskoy (1841-1851) St Petersburg.Maker: Sergie Bragin.

Condition: Excellent. ******* Both spoons are engraved with the coat of arms of Alexander Konstantinovitch Benckendorff,( 1846-1917) Russian ambassador to the court of st.James and chief Russian diplomat in the  United Kingdom between 1903 and his death in 1917. A impressively grand near matched pair of antique silver imperial Russian serving/platter spoons. These spoons have been Hallmarked with the zolotnik mark 84,

 meaning 840 particles of silver per 1000. (See photos for additional hallmarks.)

Designed with a entwined knot at the top with a outer silver round rim resembling the form of a rope that follows the outer contour of the spoon, with a cross over three quarters of the way up before tapering off towards the bowl.( See photos they form part of the description.) This near pair of serving spoons weigh just over a staggering ½ kg.
